Chief Technical Officer · Automotive embedded software

Software for cars. Pictures for people.

I'm Ali, the Chief Technical Officer at ECOSAR and an embedded software engineer by trade, with over 10 years in automotive software. I work on AUTOSAR, low-level firmware, embedded C++ and QNX, and on the build systems that hold them together. Away from the IDE, I take photographs and do graphic design.

Integrated Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR on embedded systems and high-performance compute platforms running Linux and QNX, supporting customers from initial project concept to production. Mentored new engineers and owned regional support for Adaptive AUTOSAR.

  • Compile timeCut overall AUTOSAR stack compile time by 40% by untangling dependencies and build bottlenecks.
  • Multi-core bootloaderRebuilt a legacy multi-core, multi-processor bootloader, with SPI-based synchronisation and a heartbeat for fail-safe handling.
  • CI/CD pipelinesDesigned pipelines for embedded software that reduced integration errors and sped up releases.
  • Training programmeRedesigned AUTOSAR training into a hands-on, scenario-based learning path.
  • Developer experienceDesigned a simpler launcher for the reference applications, shaped by customer feedback.

Software Engineer · Altran

Worked with Volvo Cars on proof-of-concept ECU architectures, AUTOSAR BSW integration on Infineon TC397, and the Jenkins pipelines behind them.

  • AUTOSAR benchmarkingBenchmarked competing AUTOSAR stacks against a structured evaluation framework, four months ahead of schedule, to inform the platform choice.
  • Ethernet backbone PoCAssessed an Ethernet backbone for a next-generation body controller, with CI/CD that cut validation effort by about 20%.

Software Engineer · DENSO

Worked with Volvo Cars and Polestar Cyan Racing, across teams in the UK, Sweden and Japan, on AUTOSAR configuration with Vector MICROSAR and model-based components in Simulink and dSPACE.

  • High-speed domain controllerDesigned a proof-of-concept domain controller, evaluating CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet for ECU scalability.
  • VectorCAST unit testingIntroduced unit and regression testing on production ECU software, catching defects earlier.
